Everybody else is doing it. Why can't I? That of course is a mindset that leads to transgression. Everybody in the world can be doing haram. It does not ever legitimize it to be right. Everybody around you may be loose in their words, loose in their attire, and able to do things that are legally allowed. And there's no problem with that. It's not about the permissibility legally of people doing it. It's about us having our code of morality and ethics that is guided by the light of the Qur'an and this habit and tradition of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. See, you as a Muslim, you need to make a decision. Are you a Muslim that doesn't want to submit? And therefore it becomes an oxymoron and an opposite to your true reality? Or are you willing to accept what Allah and the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said? Are you of those who say, Sama'na wa ata'na, we hear and understand and therefore we obey and practice? Or are you the type to say, we hear and understand, but we reject? And the one who rejects is only rejecting themselves from Jannah. The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said in the authentic hadith narrated by the Imam Muslim, Kullu ummati yadkhuluna aljannah. May Allah grant us its entrance, Ya Rabb. All of my people, all of my nation shall enter paradise. Illa man aba, except the one who says no. And they said, oh, messenger of Allah, who would refuse? Who would say no? I don't want to go to Jannah. Qala man ata'ani dakhalal jannah. The one who obey me, the one who take my standard, the one who use my lifestyle, the one who stop where I stopped, go where I went, love what I loved, hate what I hated, do what I taught, stay away from what I prohibited.
The one who put Allah before others, the one who make the Quran the light of their life, the compass of their direction, the one who takes charge of their life in accordance to that which is pleasing to my habit and lifestyle enters Jannah. Wa man asa'ani faqad aba. The one who refuses is the one who seeks intentionally to disobey. The one who says the Prophet did, but I will do different. The Prophet said, but I say different. The Prophet ordered, but I contradict and I oppose. That person is the one who has an opportunity for Jannah, but has taken themself out of it, has said, I don't want to be with the Nabi Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. May Allah increase our love for Jannah. May Allah make us from those who seek to be with him Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. And may Allah make our habits consistent to his lifestyle, that which is a purity in this life and the next. Allahuma Ameen.
