#YaqeenBehindTheScenes Tesneem’s behind the scenes video into her upcoming publication on religious minorities. In this video, Tesneem discusses the beginning stages of her research through her initial reading of Ibn al-Qayyim’s treatise on the laws regulating religious minorities. In her paper, she hopes to explore the social and political realities that shaped the various rights granted to minorities.

Tesneem AlKiek is a fellow at Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research. BA in Islamic Studies and Early Christianity from the University of Michigan. Phd. Candidate at Georgetown University in Islamic Studies. She is a Founder of Hira Institute and has earned many research awards and grants.

Fellow, Director of Expanded Learning | Tesneem is the Director of Expanded Learning and a Fellow at Yaqeen Institute. She completed her undergraduate degree in Early Christianity and Islamic Studies at the University of Michigan. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Islamic Studies at Georgetown University with a focus on the development of Islamic law.
