Dr. Hasan Ashraf completed a dual Bachelor’s in chemistry and history. He went on to medical school where he obtained an MD, and then completed a residency in internal medicine. He then completed a cardiology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. He was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine. Dr. Ashraf is currently performing a fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at the Yale University School of Medicine where he specializes in minimally invasive heart procedures for the management of complex heart rhythm abnormalities. Apart from his medical practice, Dr. Ashraf is a clinician-investigator who is heavily involved in cardiovascular outcomes research, and he is the author of over 25 peer-reviewed articles. His research interests include the history of Arabia during Late Antiquity, early Islamic historiography, the intersection of the early maghāzī literature and ḥadīth, and cardiac disorders with a focus on electrophysiological interventions.
