Editorial Manager

Yaqeen Institute is seeking applications for the role of editorial manager to facilitate our rigorous editorial, review, and publication process. Reporting to the Director of Research, the editorial manager will work closely with authors, peer reviewers and internal stakeholders to facilitate the development of papers that often serve as the foundational content for many of Yaqeen’s flagship products.

• Project-manage the publication process to ensure timely publications including proper planning, monitoring, communication, problem-solving, and quality control in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
• Develop and implement strategies to support annual research publication goals
• Support the Director of Research in developing and maintaining editorial standards and regularly reviewing the publication process to identify and implement enhancements as needed
• Foster a spirit of teamwork amongst researchers and cross-departmental staff, and work to advance quality research production at Yaqeen

• Strong project management skills, detail orientation, and punctuality
• Ability to plan, monitor, and execute complex publication processes
• Flexibility and confidence necessary to work with and encourage a variety of authors, researchers, and scholars
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and native command of written English to effectively collaborate with authors, reviewers, and cross-functional teams
• Commitment to Islamic standards of conduct and passion for Yaqeen Institute’s mission
• Masters degree or higher
• Prior experience working for a similar role at a journal publication, research institute, or the like
• Demonstrated track record of success in a research management capacity
• Both full-time and part-time roles will be considered. Competitive compensation package commensurate with the skills.
