Dr. Ammar Khatib PhD is a scholar of the Qur’anic sciences and a specialist in Arabic linguistics. He completed his doctorate in Islamic sciences at the Université Privée Africaine Franco-Arabe (UPAFA) with a dissertation on the anomalous readings of the Prophet’s companions. He has written many treatises on matters related to Qur’anic recitations (qirā’āt) and the Qur’anic text, and has collaborated closely with Dr. Ghānim Qaddūrī al-Ḥamad, one of the foremost specialists in Qur’anic studies in the Muslim world. He obtained several certifications (ijāzāt) in the study of the Qur’an, qirā’āt, Hadith, and various Islamic fields. He is the Director of Education and Religious Affairs for the Manitoba Islamic Association (MIA) and a member and consultant of the MIA Fiqh Committee.
