How do I know if my loved one died as a Shaheed (martyr)? Is there any way for me to know? What are the categories and rulings pertaining to them in the case they apparently die Shaheed?

2. The one who drowns

3. The one who dies of pleurisy

4. The one who dies of a stomach disease

5. The one who dies by fire

6. The one who dies under a falling building or structure

7. The woman who dies in childbirth

8. The one who dies while protecting his property

9. The one who dies while defending his family or religion

We should make du'a for the reward of Shahada. But know that Allah SWT does not need us to be in a certain state in order to give us a certain station (such as martyrdom). If we ask for the station with sincerity and truthfulness in the heart, Allah can grant us the reward even if we die in our bed.
