Well, think about it. The Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, being as brave as he was, **[0:21]** utterly fearless throughout his life, meant that not only was he truthful, but he was certain of his truthfulness. And with examples, things become clearer. When Allah, the Most High, revealed to the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, **[0:37]** and he recited to the people, O Messenger of God, convey to the world this message, and Allah, meaning in the process of doing so, will protect you from the people. When that verse came down, the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, at a time when the Muslims were fearing being attacked at any night **[0:56]** upon coming to Medina, being raided by the superpowers of their time, such as Byzantium or otherwise, he refused that anyone stand as a night guard by his door any longer. He said for everyone to go home. Not only that, the companions narrate that one night **[1:14]** they heard a huge clamor. There was like a big explosion of sorts. And so they quickly assembled and got together, and by the time they got to the place where the sound was emanating from, the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, was already there by himself on his way back, **[1:32]** having leapt onto a horse belonging to Abu Talha, and was returning with his sword hanging from around his neck, telling everyone, Don't worry, don't worry. It's fine. Meaning it's a false alarm. Even the bravest men of all time, the people of valor, the warriors of the world, would even appreciate **[1:51]** a person going out in the dark to the unknown, single-handedly, by themselves in this way. In fact, in the Battle of Badr, one year later, the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, was said about, his own cousin Ali ibn Abi Talib said about him, that we used to seek shelter **[2:11]** around the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam. We would hover around him in battle when it got most intense, because he was the toughest of us all when it came to the battlefield. And on another incident, at the end of his life, **[2:26]** salallahu alayhi wasalam, when the ambush took place at the Battle of Hunayn, and everyone scrambled in every direction, they actually asked, after that incident, Al-Bara'a, may Allah be pleased with him, were you of those who fled on the day of Hunayn? **[2:41]** He said, I can tell you one thing for sure, the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, did not flee. When the volley of arrows came down, and people dispersed, and it was chaotic, it was mayhem, he was the one that created for us a rallying point, because everyone is going in every direction. **[3:00]** He raised the flag high, and he stood tall, and he said, Ana an-Nabiyu la kathib, I am the Prophet of God, this is no lie, Ana ibn Abdul Muttalib, I am the grandson of Abdul Muttalib, meaning it's actually me, it's actually Muhammad, calling attention to himself in this most difficult hour. **[3:19]** You know what could also be argued to be from the valor of the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, or his fearlessness, was his magnanimity with his enemies, in terms of how generous he was with them financially. He did not fear even poverty. **[3:37]** Many of the enemies of the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, they hated him due to tribal prejudices or otherwise. Not because of his character, not because of his message, they recognized the purity of him and what he brought, but because of the bigotries, they were so defensive, and some of them, so many of them, **[3:57]** would say the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, would spend and give us gifts until we had no choice but to feel captivated with his love. Some of them, as Anas radiAllahu anhu said, a man came up to the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, and even snatched him by his cloak, leaving a mark in his neck, and telling him, this money that you collect, **[4:17]** this is not your money, this is God's money. Where is our share of it? And so the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, kept his companions from retaliating and said, give the man some of the money, with a smile, alayhi salatu wasalam. In fact, to go one step further, Zayd ibn Su'na, he provoked the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, **[4:39]** deliberately and chastised him. He said, you and your clan and your family members are all known for not repaying debts, though he was asking for the debt repayment days before it was actually due. And so Umar ibn al-Khattab wanted to retaliate and punish Zayd, and the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, **[5:00]** not only stopped Umar, he said to Umar, go give him his money, and give him some more money on top of it as a bonus, because you frightened him, O Umar. At which point Zayd said, I had tested and examined and confirmed all of the signs that I knew as a Jewish scholar, **[5:18]** of prophethood in you, except this one, that nothing you are ever provoked with, except that your forbearance matches it and is able to overcome it. And now I have just seen it, and now it's time for me to be a Muslim. **[5:34]** And in some narrations he said, and my first deed as a Muslim is going to be to give up these fortunes that I've collected in my life in the path of Allah and His Messenger, salallahu alayhi wasalam. ## Other Episodes in "Proofs of Prophethood" -
