**[0:01]** What is piety? Piety is not just outward ritualistic prayer and worship. Allah says, piety is believing in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the books, and the prophets.

**[0:21]** Piety is giving money in spite of loving it, to the near of kin, to the orphans, the needy, the wayfarers and beggars, and for the freeing of slaves. And the truly pious are those who keep their word whenever they promise,

**[0:38]** and are patient in misfortune and hardship and in times of peril. It is they that have proved themselves true, and they who have attained consciousness of God.
