**[0:00]** Dear brothers and sisters, tonight we are going to be speaking about one of the greatest

**[0:26]** journeys in the history of recorded faith. That is the journey of the Prophet ﷺ from Mecca to Jerusalem to the heavens and back. Al-Isra and Al-Miraj. And subhanAllah as we get to it, obviously in the previous lecture we covered all of the lead up to Al-Isra and

**[0:45]** Al-Miraj. So just a quick recap. The Prophet ﷺ has just faced Aam al-Huzun, the year of grief. He lost Khadijah, he lost Abu Talib. Every door to his da'wah ﷺ has been shut.

**[1:04]** He faces the rejection of the people of Ta'if without the comfort of those who used to console him after other forms of rejection that he faced ﷺ. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala takes him on this journey from the house of Umm Hani, the sister of Ali, from Mecca to Jerusalem

**[1:28]** to the heavens. On the way from Mecca to Jerusalem, as we said, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala allowed the Prophet ﷺ to pray in different locations. He ascends the Buraq with Jibreel alayhi salam. Jibreel alayhi salam took the heart of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and this time, instead

**[1:48]** of taking something out of it, he poured something into it. And that was what? Two things that we can never get enough of. Well zamzam, we can never get enough of zamzam for sure. Al-imanu

**[2:03]** wal hikmah. Faith and belief. To affirm him further in faith and belief. Seals up his chest. He prayed ﷺ two rak'ahs in the hijr of Ismail alayhi salam. He made his way to al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, Tayba, and he prayed two rak'ahs there, not knowing that it was

**[2:23]** Tayba until Jibreel alayhi salam told him that this is the place of your hijrah. And then he prayed in Sinai where Allah ﷻ spoke directly to Musa alayhi salam. And then he prayed in Bayt Lahm where the birth of Isa alayhi salam took place. And then he arrives

**[2:41]** at al-Quds. He arrives at Jerusalem where Jibreel alayhi salam strikes a place for the stone. He ties the Buraq to that stone. He enters into Masjid al-Aqsa. He prays two rak'ahs in the hijr of Ismail alayhi salam. And then he turns around and he sees all of the prophets

**[2:58]** have been gathered for him alayhi salam. And he leads all 124,000 prophets in prayer. Afterwards, the Prophet ﷺ will take the second part of this journey which is the mi'raj, which

**[3:14]** is the ascension of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. As we said, Allah could have taken the Prophet ﷺ directly from Mecca to the heavens. Why did he choose this place? And we listed a number of reasons. One of them was that this was the Qibla at the time. And so it

**[3:31]** is a sign of bringing the Prophet ﷺ nearest to Allah ﷻ. He will bring him to the nearest point in dunya and then he will bring him to the nearest point in the heavens by the qurb of the Prophet ﷺ, the closest of the Prophet ﷺ when Allah will speak directly

**[3:47]** to him. We talked about the virtues of the land, the ard itself, the land itself is mubarakah, it's blessed. And so Allah ﷻ brought him there for that purpose. We talked about the virtues of al-Masjid al-Aqsa. And so Allah ﷻ brought him there for that purpose. And

**[4:05]** the virtues of the salah that are there in particular from the dua of Sulaiman alayhi salam, that whoever prays two rak'ahs there purely for the sake of Allah ﷻ will leave with their sins completely taken away like the day that their mother gave birth to them.

**[4:21]** We talked about this being the place of anbiya and shuhada, prophets and martyrs, that not a single hand span of that area exists without a prophet that has lived and dwelled and taught from that place. And we said that this is also the only place where prophets have ascended

**[4:39]** to Allah ﷻ that we know about. Idrees alayhi salam, Isa alayhi salam, ascended from that place. And also Isa shall descend in al-Sham. So this is the portal between the heavens and the earth. We also said that this is the place of the end of times, that all of the

**[4:59]** significant incidents of the end of times tend to focus on that area. Finally it is al-ardul mahshar, it is the place of assembly and from that place as believers we pray that we will go on our journey to Jannah as the prophet ﷺ went on his journey through the

**[5:17]** heavens and saw what he saw, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Quick recap so that we can now get into the mi'raj itself, the beautiful ascension of the prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Now a quick note, what month are we going into now? Rajab. And it is a very

**[5:37]** popular opinion amongst the scholars that this journey that we are speaking about happened in the month of Rajab. And that's why there is always specifically a lot that surrounds the 27th of Rajab. However, just like other significant incidents in the seerah, it's

**[5:55]** not actually certain that this is the time that this happened with the prophet ﷺ. Everything from the birth date of the prophet ﷺ to the death date of the prophet ﷺ to the hijrah of the prophet ﷺ, there is ikhtilaf, there is a difference of opinion as to when exactly

**[6:11]** this took place. And Imam Ibn Hajar rahimahullah ta'ala records all of the opinions in this regard. Many of the scholars indeed said that it is the month of Rajab which we are in right now. A large group of scholars said that it was Rabi'ul Awwal. In fact it's probably the most dominant opinion after the celebrated opinion if you will. That it was

**[6:31]** Rabi'ul Awwal, the same month the prophet ﷺ was born in, that he died in, and the rebirth of the prophet ﷺ of sorts of al-Israa' and al-Mi'raj took place in Rabi'ul Awwal and the hijrah of the prophet ﷺ took place in Rabi'ul Awwal. Some of them said it was Rabi'ul Thani, the second month of Rabi'. And some even said Ramadan, that it was the

**[6:51]** month of Ramadan. Obviously at that time the command to fast the month of Ramadan had not yet come. And that's a very minor opinion but the ulama that tried to justify that said well this is a month in which the Qur'an was revealed and it is a month in which many blessings descend and so it would make sense that it took place in this time. All in all Allah

**[7:10]** knows best but of course it is in the memory of the Muslims that it is Rajab that the prophet ﷺ would have taken this journey, alayhi salatu wassalam. Before he takes that journey, as we said Jibreel alayhi wassalam who washed his heart with zamzam offered him two drinks.

**[7:31]** The drinks were what? No one knows what was offered to him? Wine and Laban. I heard Haleeb, that's how you know it's, we get into the Shami debate, is it Haleeb, is it Laban? Milk

**[7:49]** and wine, sallallahu alayhi wasalam. He was offered these two drinks. And the prophet ﷺ chose Laban. He chose to drink from the milk. Now obviously anything coming from the hand of Jibreel alayhi wassalam is halal if you want to make the argument. He's not sinful

**[8:06]** sallallahu alayhi wassalam for what he takes. In fact the prohibition will come later. But the prophet ﷺ chose what was closer to the fitra. And by the way no one gets to go and drink alcohol and say it was offered to me by an angel and that's why, no it's haram

**[8:21]** for you all the time. The prophet ﷺ chose the milk and Jibreel alayhi wassalam felt joy at that and in elation he said alhamdulillah all praises be to Allah who always guides

**[8:36]** you to the natural choice, the good choice, your disposition. If you would have drunk the wine, ghawat ummatuk, your ummah would have gone astray. It would have had an effect on the orientation of your ummah. So the prophet ﷺ chose well as he always would sallallahu

**[8:55]** alayhi wassalam due to the natural guidance that came from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to him alayhi salatu wassalam. Al-Buraq is left in Jerusalem. While the prophet ﷺ will now ascend through the heavens with the hand of Jibreel alayhi wassalam. Now some of the books

**[9:15]** of Seerah, it's not in a hadith form which means that the authenticity is not as rigorous. They narrate that the prophet ﷺ saw like a ladder of sorts which the prophet ﷺ said resembles what a man sees at the time of death. Something that represents ascension. But it's

**[9:34]** not like the ladders that you are used to. Something that represents that you would move up high. And it's made of silver and gold but it represents the transition from realm to realm that the believing soul takes at the time of their death. However, what we

**[9:52]** know what is authentic of course is Jibreel alayhi wassalam takes the hand of the prophet ﷺ and he ascends with him sallallahu alayhi wassalam. The way that this process is going to work is that every time the prophet ﷺ gets to one gate of the heavens, the angel

**[10:12]** who is at that gate will ask who is there? And it is Jibreel alayhi wassalam. وَمَنْ مَعَكَ And who is with you Ya Jibreel? Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wassalam. أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِ Has he been sent for sallallahu alayhi wassalam?

**[10:32]** And Jibreel alayhi wassalam will say yes. Let me give a little bit of context to this because it's extremely important. For 23 years, the rupture of the heavens was greater than ever when Jibreel alayhi wassalam would come down to the prophet ﷺ with the Quran. And

**[10:51]** the angels would surround Jibreel alayhi wassalam as he was coming down from heaven to heaven and they would say, مَاذَا قَالَ رَبُّكَ What did your Lord say? And Jibreel alayhi wassalam would say, الحق الحق وهو العلي الكبير. He spoke in the truth and he is the most high and the most great.

**[11:09]** The angels would faint at the strength of the revelation, the power of the revelation coming down to the heart of the prophet ﷺ. And so they know that in these 23 years, supernatural things are happening of the descent of the Quran to the heart of the prophet ﷺ. And

**[11:27]** when Allah permits, some of them are able to come down from the heavens in the entourage of Jibreel alayhi wassalam as he reveals it to the heart of the prophet ﷺ. Like for example Surat al-An'am which came to the prophet ﷺ and he looked up and he saw 70,000 angels

**[11:42]** accompanying Jibreel alayhi wassalam with the revelation to speak it to his heart for the first time ﷺ, to descend it into his heart. Now, the man himself alayhi wassalam is going through those heavens. Notice as well that they're not asking when Jibreel

**[12:01]** says it is Muhammad and as Suyuti rahimullah says, they are accustomed to Malik al-Mawt, the angel of death bringing up the souls. Why is Jibreel bringing a man with him? Notice that when Jibreel alayhi wassalam says it is Muhammad ﷺ, صلوا على رسول الله,

**[12:21]** I don't see anyone's lips moving, they don't say who's that? They all know who he is ﷺ. And so they step aside and they welcome the prophet ﷺ to that heaven and they say, مرحباً بِالنبيِ الصالح. Welcome to the noble prophet. And so they're celebrating

**[12:42]** him ﷺ as he's going from earth to heaven to heaven to heaven. They were waiting for his arrival ﷺ and in that, in his ascension alayhi wassalam, the prophet ﷺ is seeing

**[12:58]** that just as the world was closing in on him, the heavens are opening up to him. Just as more and more people were closing in on him to reject him, more and more angels are welcoming him ﷺ into the heavens. And there's also a beautiful reflection here that the prophet

**[13:17]** ﷺ mentioned that every heaven is bigger than the one prior to it. So the heavens open up. Each one of the heavens is like a needle in a desert, a drop of water in the ocean. So insignificant in size compared to the next one. So what about As-Sama' al-Dunya? What

**[13:36]** about this world that we're in right now? And subhanAllah if you think about that, you know, oftentimes when we are caught in our world of problems, we forget how small our world actually is. And so what Allah has created is bigger than your world, bigger than your

**[13:52]** perception, bigger than your interactions. And so when you realize that, when you gain perspective on that, then it's not just your world that gets smaller, your world's problems get smaller as well. Because you're able to cast it into that perspective. And so the

**[14:07]** ratio of the prophet's ﷺ perspective is growing alayhi wassalam as he is ascending from heaven to heaven and seeing more and more and more and more ﷺ. And then the Messenger

**[14:24]** of Allah ﷺ will meet the prophets. Now this is the core subject of what we're going to be speaking about tonight, bismillah ta'ala, or reflecting upon, particularly from al-Isra' al-Mi'raj tonight, is the meeting of the prophet ﷺ with the specific prophets

**[14:43]** that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has chosen. Every prophet before the prophet ﷺ prophesized on earth his arrival. They knew of the seal of the prophets to come. And now every prophet

**[15:02]** in some capacity is welcoming the prophet ﷺ upon arrival. Now all of the prophets were present in Masjid al-Aqsa. But Allah ﷻ chose a select few for him to meet in person ﷺ and to actually have a conversation with. And there is so much to reflect upon

**[15:23]** here of the wisdom and I could literally say that there are books upon books that have been written just elaborating on the hikm, the wisdom of the prophet ﷺ meeting the prophets that he met, and what they represented at that particular point of his journey. And

**[15:40]** I want to make a few things clear. Number one, the prophets that he met ﷺ are not necessarily the most important of the prophets and messengers. There are some that are missing

**[15:56]** that are of a higher rank than some of those that he will meet ﷺ. That's number one. Number two, the order that he meets them in does not represent their rank necessarily in terms of virtue. Now Allah ﷻ says, la nufarriqoo bayna ahad min rusuli, that he does

**[16:16]** not distinguish between any of his messengers. That's talking about the scope of their mission, not their virtues because there are some prophets that are higher in virtue than others. And the prophets that are highest in virtue are ulul azmi min al-rusul. So generally speaking

**[16:34]** you have al-rusul which are 315 or so of the 124,000 anbiya. And the rusul, every messenger is a prophet as well as being a messenger. Not every prophet is also a messenger. So

**[16:50]** that group of rusul are higher than those that are just anbiya. Amongst the rusul, amongst the messengers there are ulul azmi min al-rusul. There are those who are of the highest rank

**[17:06]** amongst the messengers of Allah. One of them, who in fact is the first of them, who the Prophet ﷺ doesn't necessarily talk to in al-Israa wal-Mi'raj is who? Who is the first rasul to mankind? Nuh ﷺ. And we know that from the hadith of al-Shafi'i. Nuh ﷺ is

**[17:27]** the hadith of intercession that on the day of judgment as the messenger of Allah ﷺ talks about the people running from prophet to prophet, messenger to messenger. When they see Nuh ﷺ they will say you are the first of Allah's rusul. You are the first of Allah's

**[17:44]** messenger. Why? Because the first people to commit shirk on earth were the people of Nuh ﷺ. Therefore Nuh ﷺ is doing more than simply reminding the people of the covenant of Adam ﷺ. He is coming with the legislation. He is bringing them back to tawheed with the

**[18:01]** legislation ﷺ. So he is awwal al-rusul, the first of the messengers of Allah. The Prophet ﷺ does not meet him, except in the gathering of al-Aqsa. So that's number one. The second thing in terms of tarteeb, if you are reading in Surah Maryam, Allah Azzawajal

**[18:20]** mentions, if you go in the order of the prophets, وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِبْرَاهِيمِ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صُدِّيقًا نَبِيًّا So first it's Ibrahim ﷺ. Then who's next? Let's go through the hifadh of Surah Maryam.

**[18:36]** Who comes after Ibrahim ﷺ? وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ مُوسَىٰ And then comes Ismail, Idrees. Did I miss anyone? I'm trying to go through the ayat

**[18:56]** in my head as well. So it's ayat 40-55. ...وَلَئِكَ الَّذِينَ أَنَعْمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمُ... Until the end of that verse. The point is that the order of the prophets has a wisdom to it. And the scholars mentioned that of the benefits of that in Surah Maryam,

**[19:13]** I believe it's Ibrahim and then Musa and then Ismail and then Idrees. Is that Allah ﷻ, what Allah is highlighting here is indeed the virtue. And Musa is greater than Ismail in terms of virtue. Otherwise if this is about coherence in terms of just a structural coherence of family,

**[19:32]** Ibrahim and then Ismail. But Musa is higher in rank than Ismail, even though Ismail is the son of Ibrahim. So Ibrahim, Musa and Ismail and then Idrees. And Idrees is certainly not as high as Ismail ﷺ or Musa ﷺ or Ibrahim ﷺ.

**[19:52]** The point is that when Allah gives us a tarteeb, when he gives us an order, there's a hikmah, there's a wisdom to that order. And so the Prophet ﷺ will meet people in a very particular wise order.

**[20:08]** And that order is not of virtue. Otherwise Yusuf ﷺ would not be higher than Isa ﷺ. Harun ﷺ would not be higher than Isa ﷺ. Because Isa is from ulul azmi min al-rusul, he's from the greatest of Allah's messengers.

**[20:26]** And some of the scholars, they debate after the Prophet ﷺ, is it Ibrahim ﷺ, is it Musa ﷺ, is it Isa ﷺ? And they all make their arguments in that regard as to who the greatest of Allah's messengers after Rasulullah ﷺ actually is.

**[20:43]** So there's a wisdom here of the Prophet ﷺ meeting these different prophets and messengers. What I want to do is give you a framework. I want to give you a framework as to how to reflect on those wisdoms.

**[20:58]** And I'm summarizing about 600 pages here, so bear with me. See it through the following lenses as the ulama highlighted it. Number one, a dominant theme in the life of the Prophet ﷺ was rejection. The nature of rejection.

**[21:14]** The Prophet ﷺ was being rejected right and left. Right? So see the order in terms of the nature of how they were rejected by their people. That's number one. Number two, the magnitude of grief because it was am al-huzn, the year of grief.

**[21:34]** So the magnitude of hardship that these prophets faced. See it in terms of the magnitude of hardship. Okay, so that's another way. I'm going to go through prophet by prophet insha'Allah. Number three, the dominant theme in this regard is migration, is hijrah.

**[21:51]** Every one of the prophets that the Prophet ﷺ will meet and speak to made a massive hijrah, a massive migration. And the Prophet ﷺ is about to embark on his hijrah. Because the Al-Isra wal-Mi'raj takes place about a year before the hijrah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

**[22:08]** It was a glance hidings of the hijrah to come. So three themes again, can you all repeat them to me? I need to know you're with me insha'Allah before I proceed. The weather is nice. I'll keep you all night. What is it? Rejection, the magnitude of hardship and grief.

**[22:26]** So rejection, hardship and hijrah. These are the three main themes that you can summarize the majority of what the ulama have written about this. And I'm giving these three themes to make it easy for you to process and digest it, bi-idhnillahi ta'ala, as the dominant themes.

**[22:43]** So let's go through them now. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ says that in the first heaven, I saw a man. And he was sitting and there were some souls that were going to his right and some souls that were going to his left.

**[23:02]** When he looked to his right, he laughed. When he looked to his left, he cried. And he kept on looking to his right and kept on looking to his left. So he said, I asked Jibreel alayhi salam, who is this man?

**[23:20]** He said that this is Adam alayhi salam. So the first prophet that he sees is Adam alayhi salam. And he says the people on his right, or all of these people are his offspring. The souls on his right are the souls that are destined for Jannah.

**[23:37]** The souls on his left are the wicked souls that are destined for hellfire. May Allah protect us from the hellfire and make us from the people of Jannah. Allahumma ameen. So Jibreel explains when he looks to the right, when he sees a saved soul, he's happy. When he looks to the left, when he sees a soul that is doomed, he's saddened by that.

**[23:56]** Alayhi salam. Now he greets the Prophet ﷺ. Says marhaban bil ibn al-saleh wal nabi al-saleh. Welcome to my righteous son and a righteous prophet. Okay, so Adam greets the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in that way.

**[24:16]** Now, what are the wisdoms of this through those lenses? First and foremost, he resembles the Prophet ﷺ in his mission to save as many people as possible. And the Prophet ﷺ was the one about whom Allah says,

**[24:33]** فَذَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعُ النَّفْسَكَ عَلَىٰ آثَارِهِمْ That the Prophet ﷺ felt so much grief. It's like you're killing yourself over their fate, over where they're going to go. And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that I am to you like a man that is

**[24:48]** رَجْلٌ أَوْ قَدْ نَارَ A man who kindles a fire and he stands in front of that fire. And the bugs start to fly into that fire and I'm trying to catch as many people as possible so that they don't fall into that fire. And the Prophet ﷺ said, and I'm grabbing you by the waist belt.

**[25:05]** Like I'm not letting you go. I'm trying to hold you to the very last moment so that you don't slip out of my hands. But you're insisting upon throwing yourself in that fire. So Adam ﷺ's depiction, the father of humanity, it represents what the Prophet ﷺ feels when he sees a saved soul versus when he sees a doomed soul.

**[25:27]** The joy of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ over salvation, the sadness of the Prophet ﷺ over damnation. So it represents this theme in the Messenger of Allah ﷺ's life. Adam ﷺ faced عَدَاوَةُ الشَّيْطَانُ

**[25:43]** The core enemy of humanity, the rejection and the enmity of Shaytan himself, Iblis himself. And Iblis is the enemy of all humanity, the enmity of all of men and women that come from the offspring of Adam ﷺ.

**[26:01]** So the rejection and the عَدَاوَةُ, the enmity of Shaytan, who is the enemy of humanity. His hardship was that he was expelled from paradise, out of paradise.

**[26:16]** And his hijrah was from paradise to earth. The migration of Adam ﷺ is the most drastic of migrations in that regard. From paradise to earth. And that hijrah would end up being good for him.

**[26:32]** That hijrah would end up being good for him. Because as Ibn al-Qayyim rahimahullah describes Adam ﷺ in this regard, that when Iblis caused Adam ﷺ to be expelled from paradise, he was overjoyed. But what he didn't understand is that Adam ﷺ is like the diver who goes to the bottom of the ocean.

**[26:52]** يَجْمَعُ الْلُؤْلُقُ He gathers the pearls and the rubies at the bottom of the ocean. ثُمَّ يَرْتَفَعْ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى And then he comes up once again. And he has in his hand the pearls and the rubies of the bottom of the ocean. So Adam ﷺ was expelled from paradise.

**[27:09]** The Prophet ﷺ was expelled from Mecca. But he came back to paradise with even more in his hand of valuables than when he was expelled. So the sadness that he felt at expulsion was a real sadness. He cried for hundreds of years.

**[27:25]** The Prophet ﷺ cried at the expulsion of Mecca. He turned around and looked at Mecca. And he cried over the hijrah from Mecca ﷺ. But he came back and the pearls and rubies in his hands were undoubtedly the Ansar. Came back higher, elevated ﷺ with a new group of people ﷺ.

**[27:44]** So think of the themes in this regard. عَدَالةُ الشَّيْطَانِ The rejection and enmity of Shaytan. The hardship of being expelled from paradise to earth. The hijrah from paradise to earth that ended up being in his favor when he returns home.

**[28:00]** He returns home with even more ﷺ. Just as the Prophet ﷺ would return home with even more ﷺ. Then he ascends to the second heaven. And as the Prophet ﷺ ascends to the second heaven,

**[28:18]** Who did he meet? If you mumble to yourselves, I can't hear you. So it doesn't help me when I just hear mumbling in the audience. Someone say it loud, like you know. He said, I met the two righteous cousins.

**[28:37]** Who are the two righteous cousins? Isa and Yahya. Yahya ﷺ who was beheaded in Ash-Sham. His head taken to Al-Masjid Al-Amawi where we now see in Damascus.

**[28:52]** Right? Isa ﷺ who they attempted to crucify in the same place the Prophet ﷺ just left. Right? And Allah ﷻ ascended him to the heavens from Palestine. Where the Prophet ﷺ was now ascending in the heavens.

**[29:08]** And Rasulullah ﷺ is looking at Isa and Yahya. And of the wisdoms that the ulama mention of Isa ﷺ being in the second heaven, is that he is in the closest of the heavens,

**[29:23]** above the heaven immediately of the earth. Because he's still meant to come back again. So his descent is still imminent at any point. And so he is in that heaven at this moment.

**[29:39]** These are not the darajat of al-jannah. Very important here. These are not the degrees of al-jannah. We're not talking about that yet. We're still talking about the heavens, not paradise. And there is a difference between the two. And here, Isa ﷺ, the Prophet ﷺ said, he described his beauty ﷺ.

**[29:58]** He said that he, the person who resembles him most is Urwa bin Mas'ud al-Thaqafi ﷺ. I did a lecture on him on the first. Please go watch it. He's an incredible fascinating human being. Urwa bin Mas'ud ﷺ. And the thing is, subhanAllah, when the Prophet ﷺ said this,

**[30:14]** Urwa was still a kafir. He was a disbeliever. And he was one of the key negotiators of Quraysh. Who tried to grab the beard of the Prophet ﷺ in Hudaybiyyah. But Allah guided him to Islam and he died a shaheed, radiyaAllahu ta'ala anhu.

**[30:29]** An incredible companion, but a beautiful appearance. Very imposing appearance, radiyaAllahu ta'ala anhu. Isa ﷺ is described, he said it looked like he had just come out of the shower. Long, beautiful, curly hair.

**[30:45]** And like the gems are falling from his hair, alayhi salam. The Prophet ﷺ was struck by his beauty. Now subhanAllah, this is a side note, it's really interesting. In the narration of Ibn Abbas radiyaAllahu ta'ala anhuma, his skin is described as lighter.

**[31:01]** In the narration of Ibn Umar, Ibn Umar radiyaAllahu anhuma says, Wallahi ma qala li Isa ahmar, the Prophet ﷺ did not say reddish skin, but instead he described his skin as a darker tone. Which means what? So the debate over what color Isa ﷺ was,

**[31:18]** even goes back to the sahaba in that regard. But, but, Isa certainly did not look like the guy on Passion of the Christ or in all the movies that you're seeing across your screen. He definitely doesn't look European. And it definitely doesn't matter what color he is.

**[31:35]** And that's actually the point, is that it's actually subhanAllah, completely irrelevant in this regard. Okay. Funny story, by the way, the guy that played Jesus in Passion of the Christ, got struck by lightning two times on set.

**[31:51]** Look it up, ask your GPT or Google or whatever. I even forgot the guy's name. Got struck by lightning twice, okay, on set. But he still went and finished the movie. Like he's not getting it, even at that point. That maybe this isn't the best idea to imitate a Prophet of Allah in this regard.

**[32:09]** So the Prophet ﷺ met Isa ﷺ and he met Yahya ﷺ, the two noble righteous cousins in that heaven. In terms of rejection, Adam ﷺ faced the enmity of humanity.

**[32:24]** Isa ﷺ and Yahya ﷺ faced the enmity of their own qawm, of their own people. Okay, two wisdoms that the scholars mentioned. They say either it's that the enmity is closing in. So some of the scholars mentioned there is adawat al-insam.

**[32:40]** There is the enmity of like shaitan and the enmity of humanity. And then adawat al-qawm, the enmity of your own people which hurts more. Okay, so some of them said it's referring to that. Some of them said it's adawatu bani Israel. Because the Prophet ﷺ when he would make his way to Medina

**[32:58]** would now face the enmity of bani Israel, the same enemies of Isa ﷺ in this regard when they turned on Isa ﷺ. And some of them even said to the Prophet ﷺ, we can believe in you but not Jesus, right? As a condition, subhanAllah, in that regard. So either way, it's the enmity is closing in.

**[33:16]** The nature of rejection is closing in. As Adam ﷺ made hijrah from Jannah to earth and back, Isa ﷺ makes hijrah from earth to the heavens and then back.

**[33:32]** And when he comes back to the earth, he will grow in his portfolio, in his profile ﷺ. So it will not just be a hujjah, a proof against those who try to kill him and an expansion of his virtue, right?

**[33:49]** Establishing tawheed and justice on the entire earth and leading with righteousness for seven years and making hajj in Umrah ﷺ and living and dying in Al-Madinah and all the beautiful things about his second coming and his second return that are recorded, right?

**[34:04]** And everything that he gains from that. But it's also, subhanAllah, the entire package of the continuation of his good deeds. So the point is, is that Isa makes hijrah. He was forced, right? They tried to expel him. They tried to crucify him. Allah ﷻ took him to the heavens.

**[34:20]** He comes back to the earth and expands in his portfolio. And so his hijrah was better for him as well. His grief, his hardship, the enormous hardship of facing an attempted crucifixion. And subhanAllah, you know,

**[34:37]** if you look back at the stories of the attempts of crucifixion, just as there was an attempt to diversify blame, diversify the blame. What was the plot of Quraysh against the Prophet ﷺ? Shed his blood with multiple hands.

**[34:52]** So that no one hand has to take the blame. No one tribe has to take the blame. And that was the plot that they would make against the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. So Allah ﷻ took Isa ﷺ from being squashed into a place of crucifixion

**[35:07]** to the heavens and the reward for him continues in this regard. Then the Prophet ﷺ ascends. Who did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ see? Yusuf ﷺ.

**[35:23]** Messenger of Allah ﷺ meets Yusuf ﷺ. Marhaban bin nabi as-salih wal akh as-salih. So Isa and Yahya, I forgot to mention this, they greeted the Prophet ﷺ. They said marhaban bin nabi as-salih wal akh as-salih. Welcome to a noble Prophet and a noble brother.

**[35:43]** And the Prophet ﷺ said, ana awla al-naas bi-Isa ibn Maryam. I am the closest of people in the world to Isa ibn Maryam, to Jesus the son of Mary. Because there is no Prophet, laisa bayni wa baynahu nabi. There is no Prophet between he and I and the Prophets are brothers.

**[35:58]** They're like stepbrothers, right? That they share the same source of revelation. So all of the Prophets now after Adam ﷺ, they're greeting him. Marhaban bin nabi as-salih wal akh as-salih. A noble Prophet, a noble brother. So Yusuf ﷺ says to him,

**[36:15]** welcome to a noble Prophet and a noble brother. What do you think the Prophet ﷺ noticed about Yusuf ﷺ first? His beauty. Now you all are talking, mashallah. Alhamdulillah, everyone's awake now. He brought in Yusuf ﷺ and everyone woke up.

**[36:33]** Yusuf ﷺ, the Prophet ﷺ was stunned by his beauty. Said he was given half of al-jamaal, half of beauty. Subhanallah. And as the scholars say, Rasulullah ﷺ was given all of beauty.

**[36:49]** You know, there's a man ajmal, who's more beautiful, Yusuf ﷺ or Muhammad ﷺ? And the scholars reconcile. They said Muhammad ﷺ was actually more beautiful than Yusuf ﷺ, but his jamaal was covered by his jalaal, alayhis salatu was salam. His beauty was covered by his glory,

**[37:06]** which is why people couldn't stare at the Prophet ﷺ. You know, when someone's just too much, that you put your head down? And that's why Ali ibn Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه), Amr ibn Aas (رضي الله عنه), like we were with him, but we put our heads down. I couldn't describe him to you

**[37:21]** because we didn't have it in us, the audacity to stare at him ﷺ, even though he was so beautiful because he had so much haybah, so much presence, alayhis salatu was salam. So we put our heads down. So the Prophet ﷺ's jamaal was beautiful, but was clothed by his jalaal in that regard,

**[37:38]** his glory. And so there was a respect that clothed his jamaal. Yusuf ﷺ was given half of al-jamaal, half of beauty. And subhanAllah, this is of course, a wisdom and a gem for all of us

**[37:53]** that bidden Allahi ta'ala, we will all enter into al-jannah with the beauty of Yusuf ﷺ. Right? With that same type of... Beauty. Now think about it in terms of the themes. Enmity. There is adawatu al-insan, adawatu al-qawm, adawatu al-ikhwa. The enmity of your own family,

**[38:14]** the enmity of humanity, the enmity of your own people, the enmity of your own brothers, your own family, which is the case of Yusuf ﷺ. And that's the worst of them all. Right? That it comes from your own home. Right? That rejection and that enmity.

**[38:33]** Hijrah. Yusuf ﷺ was forced to make hijrah from Palestine to Misr and it was for his own good in that he became a king. Right? Or what resembles a king ﷺ resembles a prime minister.

**[38:49]** Right? In his role when he made that hijrah, his hardship was followed by tremendous ease. Everything that Yusuf ﷺ went through had a parallel ease. So he went from being the favoured brother to being the favoured leader. Right? He went from being a prisoner, a slave and a prisoner

**[39:12]** to being a king and a rescuer. Every... There's a flip. Like if you took Yusuf ﷺ's life and you put side by side, Allah ﷻ replaced everything that he went through with an ease that resembles the hardship that he went through. Similar to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. And subhanAllah,

**[39:32]** the wisdom and the beauty as it relates to Palestine. His brothers threw him into a well in Palestine under the rubble. Right? They threw him into a well in Palestine

**[39:47]** thinking that he would be erased. They threw him into the bottom of the earth in Palestine. Allah ﷻ allowed the Prophet ﷺ to meet him in the high heavens. Just think about the imagery of that. Thrown into a well in Palestine and now the Prophet ﷺ is meeting him in the third heaven

**[40:07]** ﷺ and just as the brothers of the Prophet ﷺ, right? His own tribe. His own tribe which is so hurtful wanted to get rid of him, right? And wanted to expel him from Mecca in hopes that the world would not hear of him. It was from Medina that the light of the Prophet ﷺ would reach the

**[40:26]** world. And Allah would elevate the name of the Prophet ﷺ throughout history, throughout the heavens and the earth for all places and all times. And so you don't rid yourself of this man.

**[40:42]** Allah ﷻ will save him, will elevate him. And then the Prophet ﷺ met who? Idrees ﷺ.

**[41:03]** The only thing we get about Idrees ﷺ is that we raised him to a lofty position. وَرَفَعْنَاهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ We elevated him to a high position. You too will be elevated to a high position ﷺ.

**[41:27]** Idrees ﷺ, how does he end up in the fourth heaven? Ibn Hajar rahimahullah mentions of the narrations in this regard that Idrees ﷺ wanted to ask how much time he had left on earth for the sake of his da'wah.

**[41:44]** He's planning a big project. He's planning the next mission of his da'wah. And he wanted to know how much time he has left. So Jibreel ﷺ took him to meet Malik al-Mawt to ask about his appointed time. As he is taking him through the heavens, Malik al-Mawt is descending to take the soul of Idrees ﷺ.

**[42:06]** Jibreel ﷺ asked Malik al-Mawt how much time does he have left? Malik al-Mawt takes his soul right there in the fourth heaven. Meaning he's the only man to die in the heavens. Allah wrote it for him that he would be raised to that place to die,

**[42:21]** to have his soul taken and so he resided there, right? And remained there and actually died. Isa ﷺ did not die yet. Idrees ﷺ had actually died in the fourth heaven. What is the lesson that we take for the Prophet ﷺ or of the beautiful reflections?

**[42:39]** Idrees ﷺ was not pursuing a high mansion. But Allah ﷻ gave him one because of his sincerity. Idrees wanted to know how much more time he had to spread Allah's greatness on earth, right?

**[42:56]** And Allah ﷻ gave him a great position in the heavens. Likewise, the Prophet ﷺ in his sincerity, he wasn't seeking a throne, he was seeking Jannah. He was seeking Allah's pleasure. And Allah ﷻ would not just bring him back to Mecca, but he would bring him to Fath Makkah,

**[43:14]** to the conquest of Makkah, Fath Makkah and the Fath of Jannah, if you will. The opening of paradise as well. Allah would give him so much more, would bring him back in a much mightier mansion. Then there's a turn in the Prophets that he meets.

**[43:30]** And the fifth heaven, who did he meet? Harun ﷺ. And Harun ﷺ, the ulama mention about him, كان محبوب في قومه.

**[43:45]** He was loved by his people. And he came back to his people beloved, just as the Prophet ﷺ would one day return to his people beloved. Okay, so there was a love. Harun ﷺ was beloved by his people. He had the softer approach and he had the higher love.

**[44:03]** Even though, subhanAllah, they made a mockery of him later on. يا أخت حارون. They call him the fallen prophet. And so they mocked Maryam ﷺ, oh sister of Aaron, oh sister of Harun. But the ulama mention the return of Harun ﷺ or the return of the Prophet ﷺ

**[44:21]** to gain the love of his people as well. And then in the sixth heaven, the Prophet ﷺ met who? Musa ﷺ. Again, مرحباً بالابن الصالح والنبي الصالح.

**[44:39]** Welcome to a noble Prophet. I'm sorry, بالأخ الصالح والنبي الصالح. To a righteous Prophet and to a righteous brother. And the Prophet ﷺ is meeting Musa ﷺ. Now if you think about the way that the Qur'an was being revealed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

**[44:58]** Musa ﷺ is the most revealed about man in the Qur'an. But that is more of a madani reality. It's more of a madani reality. Meaning if you take the Qur'an up until the point of al-Isra and al-Mi'raj, it's not necessarily Musa ﷺ. It's many of these prophets that he's meeting.

**[45:14]** And subhanAllah, of the beauty of it is that imagine Yusuf ﷺ. Surah Yusuf was revealed to the Prophet ﷺ to give him comfort in his heart. To give the Prophet ﷺ affirmation. And right after Surah Yusuf comes to the Prophet ﷺ, the Prophet ﷺ meets Yusuf ﷺ.

**[45:30]** So the prophets, the nature of the stories of the prophets that was coming to the Prophet ﷺ were the prophets in their hardships. Even Musa ﷺ, the bits and pieces of his story up until that point are in the capacity of the hardships that he faced. And so here are the names that were being revealed to you.

**[45:46]** And now you're seeing them in their full glory as Allah ﷻ has given to them. In Medina, of course, especially as the Prophet ﷺ is dealing with Bani Israel, and you have a qiwal, you have the longer surahs, the long stories of Musa ﷺ start to come as well.

**[46:01]** But the Prophet ﷺ said, I saw Musa ﷺ and he was crying. Adam ﷺ was crying too. But Musa ﷺ started to cry in a different way. And they weren't the tears of despair or tears of grief.

**[46:20]** They were tears of joy, but with halal envy. Halal envy. I'll talk about what halal envy is. In the ulema talk about al-farkh bayn al-hasad wal-ghibta. The difference between envy where you want something bad to happen to someone,

**[46:37]** and where you see something and you envy them for the right reasons and in good ways. So like the Prophet ﷺ mentioned, someone who Allah gave money to, but they spend it fee sabeelillah. And someone who Allah gave ilm to, knowledge to, and they teach it fee sabeelillah. So you wish not for the money or for the fame,

**[46:56]** you envy them over their good deeds. I want to aspire to do good like they're doing. Like the envy of the poor of the muhajireen, of the rich, right? In this regard, the poor of the ansar of the rich, right?

**[47:12]** So he's crying and he said, Ya Rabb, this is a young man who you sent after me, and his ummah will enter into jannah in greater numbers than my ummah. Sahih Muslim. So it's like there's a sense of pride and love for his brother.

**[47:29]** But at the same time, Musa alayhi salam knows that his ummah was the ummah right before the ummah of Muhammad ﷺ. SubhanAllah, so many connections you can make in this regard. The largest ummah after the ummah of Muhammad ﷺ is the ummah of Musa alayhi salam.

**[47:45]** The largest ummah on the day of judgment after the ummah of Muhammad ﷺ is the ummah of Musa alayhi salam. As it relates to al-Quds, was it not Musa at the gates of Jerusalem with his ummah? And they earned the prohibition upon themselves.

**[48:02]** But this ummah was promised it instead. And given its opening and its security until the day of judgment instead. Right? So it is not looking at the Prophet ﷺ wishing for his downfall or hating the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in any way.

**[48:20]** It's Ya Allah, that's him. This brother of mine who you gave even a greater share of entrance into al-jannah. But marhaban bin nabi al-saleh wa al-akhil al-saleh. Welcome to my pious brother and my pious, a pious prophet.

**[48:39]** We'll get back to Musa alayhi salam on the descent. He then goes to meet Ibrahim alayhi salam. Obviously Musa alayhi salam, the story of his hijrah, well known. Travelled through the sea, right? Placed into the Nile,

**[48:54]** Masr to Madian and back and so many other places, right? And the hardship was clear. Ibrahim alayhi salam. Now the Prophet ﷺ will meet him. And subhanAllah, you think about the lead up to this meeting with Ibrahim alayhi salam.

**[49:14]** Rasulullah ﷺ as he enters now into the highest heaven, he says that I saw a man reclined with his back against what appeared to be al-bayt al-ma'mur.

**[49:31]** Al-bayt al-ma'mur means the frequently visited home. It's the equivalent of the Kaaba in the heavens. 70,000 angels enter every day to do tawaf, never returning. So imagine the site of tawaf in the heavens of the malaika,

**[49:47]** the equivalent of the Kaaba on earth. Ibrahim alayhi salam, when he built the Kaaba on earth with his son Ismail alayhi salam and he made dua for the Prophet ﷺ to be from his descendants and to achieve what he was destined to achieve.

**[50:04]** And now Ibrahim alayhi salam is sitting in the heavens with his back to the Kaaba and he sees the fruit of his dua approaching. Qala ana da'watu abi Ibrahim. Didn't the Prophet ﷺ introduce himself and say,

**[50:20]** I am the dua of my father Ibrahim. And his son, Muhammad ﷺ just came from the Kaaba on earth. There are too many connections to make here. On the buraq, which Ibn Kathir rahimahullah said was what Ibrahim alayhi salam rode from Palestine to Mecca

**[50:39]** to leave Hajar and Ismail and back. Now the Prophet ﷺ boards the buraq from the same place of Ismail alayhi salam to Palestine and now up to Ibrahim alayhi salam and he's from the Kaaba of the earth to the Kaaba of the heavens

**[50:57]** and looking at the man from whom a dua manifested him ﷺ and a da'watu abi Ibrahim. And the Prophet ﷺ said that I've never seen a man who looks more like me than Ibrahim.

**[51:14]** And so the description of Ibrahim alayhi salam is the same shama'al of the Prophet ﷺ. He had long black hair. He had bold eyes alayhi salam. He had a thick beard. The same description of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the shama'al,

**[51:30]** a smooth nose is all the same description of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. And Ibrahim alayhi salam as he's sitting with his back to the Kaaba in the heavens and his legs extended he says

**[51:47]** marhaban bin nabi al salih wal ibn al salih welcome to a noble Prophet and to a noble son. The only one who called him that before was Adam alayhi salam and now Ibrahim alayhi salam was calling him that as well.

**[52:03]** SubhanAllah the journey of al-Isra and al-Mi'raj started from the hijr of Ismail and here he was the chamber of Ismail. Here he was the promised Prophet. The son of Ibrahim alayhi salam through that son and he says I said to my father salam alaykum wa rahmatullah

**[52:20]** he said wa alaykum wa salam wa rahmatullah marhaban bin al salih wal nabi al salih and Ibrahim alayhi salam who was always thinking beyond the immediate. When he was in Mecca he wasn't just thinking about the son that was with him

**[52:37]** and if they would establish the prayer he was thinking about the descendants of that son extending the prayer and then the descendants of that son having a Prophet amongst them. He's always going beyond alayhi salam and here just as he made dua for the believers

**[52:56]** Ibrahim alayhi salam says to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasalam ya muhammad salim ala ummatika when you go back I want you to give my salam to your ummah and tell them that Jannah has a vast plain of pure soil and sweet water on leveled lands

**[53:16]** and the plants and the trees of Jannah grow by saying subhanallah walhamdulillah wa la ilaha illallah wa allahu akbar so he sent salam and he gave the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasalam something to tell us to increase our share in Jannah

**[53:34]** now subhanallah wa lil mu'mineen Ibrahim was always thinking about the believers even in that momentous occasion he says give my salam to the believers and he said Rabbana li yuqeemus salat oh Allah I want them to establish the prayer and our prayer is established with salat Ibrahim at the end

**[53:53]** Allahumma salli ala muhammadin wa ala aali muhammad kama sallayta ala Ibrahim wa ala aali Ibrahim subhanallah and he said salam to us and our prayer includes salam upon him alayhi salatu wasalam

**[54:09]** so he met his father Ibrahim alayhi salatu wasalam and Ibrahim alayhi salam faced the adawa the enmity of his own father and he too was expelled he was actually thrown into the fire all of his clothes burnt off and not a single person to take him in

**[54:29]** and the ulama mentions subhanallah when the prophet ﷺ made hijra he had the ansar to receive him Ibrahim alayhi salam had no ansar he said to Sara there is no believer on earth except for you and me it's just us

**[54:49]** but look where Allah brought him to so ya rasulullah you are destined after this hardship for greatness in a way that you could never perceive the prophet ﷺ mentioned that at that point we continue to ascend and forgive me I know I'm going for a longer time tonight

**[55:07]** he said as we continue to ascend Jibreel alayhi salam assumed a new form when he came to me in the beginning of al-israa al-miraj he was wearing a green garment

**[55:26]** but he was in his human form now Jibreel alayhi salam had broken into his heavenly form Rasulullah ﷺ only saw that form of Jibreel alayhi salam at the beginning of the revelation in surah al-mudathir

**[55:42]** in the hadith of Jabir ibn Abdullah in Sahih al-Bukhari he said I saw Jibreel alayhi salam spreading his 600 wings across the entire heavens and the earth filling up the space between the heavens and the earth and I saw him from this way this time the prophet ﷺ sees him that way from the heavens

**[56:01]** so he sees him with a downward perspective filling up the space between the heavens and the earth this is the second site that Allah is mentioning with the prophet ﷺ

**[56:17]** at where? Sidrat al-muntaha the lot tree which is the uppermost boundary of the heavens Rasulullah ﷺ said that it was its leaves were as big as the ears of an elephant

**[56:35]** and its colors were completely indescribable I always tell people something very simple if you've ever snorkeled or scuba dive and you see the colors at the bottom of the ocean you can't describe those colors with the spectrum that we have here what then of the colors at the highest heavens?

**[56:51]** Prophet ﷺ said I can't give you a color I can't tell you it was red or gold it's indescribable colors of that tree and then the Prophet ﷺ said that this was the point at which Jibreel ﷺ was stunned

**[57:06]** قال نظرت إليه فإذا هو كالحلس البالي من خشية الله he was like a flattened rug out of his awe of Allah ﷻ looking up and only the Prophet ﷺ will pass this boundary to be addressed by Allah ﷻ and Allah will speak to the Prophet ﷺ

**[57:24]** directly. Musa ﷺ was the one spoken to directly by Allah on earth. Rasulullah ﷺ is the one spoken to directly by Allah in the heavens so another leverage another degree of favor that's given to Muhammad ﷺ. أوحى إلى عبده ما أوحى Allah revealed to him what he revealed

**[57:47]** you see much of that conversation we don't have it right I hate to break it to you but أتحيات لله والصلاة والطيبات in your salah that's not narrated that that was the conversation between the Prophet ﷺ and Allah ﷻ we don't have much of what actually took place

**[58:04]** in this conversation between Allah and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ but أوحى إلى عبده ما أوحى Allah revealed to him what he revealed this refers to according to Ibn Abbas (رضي الله عنه) and others the two ayat that Allah revealed to the Prophet ﷺ directly not through the established means of

**[58:22]** Jibreel ﷺ what are those two ayat the end of Surat Al-Baqarah the two verses at the end of Surat Al-Baqarah okay and there is a sign subhanAllah that at this point he gave him that and we know he legislated to the Prophet ﷺ as salah the prayer in that conversation

**[58:43]** the mandatory prayers 50 prayers in total were given to the Prophet ﷺ in that is a sign as Imam Hassan Basri rahimahullah mentions the prayer is the ascension of the believer Allah brought the Prophet ﷺ to that highest point

**[59:01]** physically to give him the legislation of salah and that's a sign that the believer who wants to ascend by soul ascends through their salah to that direct conversation with Rabbul Arsh Al-Azim with the Lord of the Mighty Throne okay so the legislation 50 prayers and the last two ayat of

**[59:23]** Surat Al-Baqarah look at the irony subhanAllah the last two ayat of Surat Al-Baqarah part of it is that we don't have a legislation from Allah that's beyond our scope that we don't have a legislation

**[59:42]** a burden like the burden of those who came before us but he's coming down on his salat aslam with 50 prayers he meets Musa ﷺ on the way back Musa kalimullah the one who was spoken to by Allah on earth Rasulullah ﷺ spoken to by Allah in the heavens what happened with you

**[1:00:03]** said Allah just legislated the salah similar to Musa ﷺ established the prayer from my mention okay how much is it 50 prayers Musa ﷺ says not gonna happen

**[1:00:22]** your ummah will not be able to do it I have I have experience here I'm the prophet that came before you I struggled with my ummah for a very long time 50 prayers is not going to work with them they're going to refuse it they're not going to be able to handle it ya Muhammad ﷺ now subhanAllah in here shows you the beautiful envy because if Musa ﷺ

**[1:00:44]** said here's my opportunity to take a little bit of his followers off of him so my ummah can be a little bit more proportional to his maybe now we can be more no no Musa ﷺ says go back to your lord ask your lord and you

**[1:01:00]** to reduce the obligation maybe you and by the way subhanAllah Rasulullah ﷺ do you really think the prophet ﷺ had a problem with praying 50 prayers no he loved to pray comfort us with it oh Bilal he'd pray at night so no companion could stick with him ﷺ not even Hudhaifah

**[1:01:19]** bin al-Yaman Abdullah Masood they couldn't pray qiyam with him ﷺ because it was too long he loved his salah 50 prayers for the prophet ﷺ not a problem you think Abu Bakr would have had a problem with it you think I mean so it's not him that he's talking about right but the ummah

**[1:01:36]** so he goes back to Allah asks Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for it for reduction comes back to 25 half of them 25 prayers Musa ﷺ says what happened he said he reduced it to 25 Musa ﷺ said go back it's not going to work they need less so he goes back to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and he brought

**[1:01:56]** it back to 10 down to 10 prayers Musa ﷺ says not going to work some of the ulama say that Musa's people had the obligation of seven prayers in total and they rejected it they lost their prayer khalafah min ba'dihim khalafah adha'u s-salah right they lost the prayer said they can't do 10

**[1:02:14]** go back the prophet ﷺ went back and got five salawat Musa ﷺ said go back even Musa ﷺ said five prayers is a lot right and the prophet ﷺ felt shy to go back to Allah and to ask for a

**[1:02:30]** reduction in this regard and so it remained five prayers but Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala announced that the reward of 50 is maintained with five so when you pray your five prayers you're still getting the reward of praying 50 prayers

**[1:02:48]** but not with the burden of praying 50 prayers and subhanAllah in that is a characteristic of the prophets Musa ﷺ reduced the prayers for us through his advice to the prophet ﷺ so we don't feel overburdened Ibrahim ﷺ gave the prophet ﷺ advice for how to increase our rank

**[1:03:08]** in paradise so we could realize more of al-jannah shows you the way that the prophets are brothers to one another and then the prophet ﷺ mentions that I was shown al-umama I was shown the nations and he said ﷺ I saw some prophets that had one follower some prophets with 10 some prophets

**[1:03:32]** with a large number some prophets with no followers whatsoever subhanAllah imagine you meet a nabi of Allah no followers no one followed them they were rejected by every one of their people then he said I saw this large ummah and I said to Jibreel ﷺ is that mine

**[1:03:49]** and Jibreel ﷺ turned the prophet ﷺ into another ummah that ummah that he was looking at was the ummah of who Musa ﷺ that's bani Israel so there are a large number of the people of jannah but he showed him another group and he said ha ula this is your ummah and it was larger twice

**[1:04:10]** as large as the or much larger than the ummah of Musa ﷺ in this regard subhanAllah so many things here number one the prophet ﷺ at this point only had a handful of followers that's number one and this is who he's seeing it's going to survive and remember subhanAllah

**[1:04:31]** when the prophet ﷺ met one person that would believe in him on the day of ta'af and it was and adas was from the town of ninawa ninawa from yunus ﷺ

**[1:04:47]** yunus ﷺ at one point gave up and now the prophet ﷺ was meeting adas from the land of yunus ﷺ and the prophet ﷺ on the day of ta'af when Jibreel came to him and he introduced him not the heavens the angels of the heavens but the angel moves mountains so i can crush them all

**[1:05:07]** the prophet ﷺ said maybe their children will believe in allah and now he's meeting those children who believed in allah he's meeting those descendants who believed in allah ﷺ and in the context of al-aqsa because they can't destroy al-aqsa without destroying the people of

**[1:05:26]** al-aqsa and they have never been able to destroy the people of al-aqsa in that ummah the prophet ﷺ has the people of gaza he has the muraabitun the people of palestine the people of palestine and bithnillah ta'ala we were there when you say i was there we were there bithnillah

**[1:05:43]** when the prophet ﷺ looked at us as an ummah with pride that that's my ummah i know i need to wrap up but of the scenes that the prophet ﷺ sees also on his descent rasulullah ﷺ he smells a sweet musk on that night of iraj he says jibreel what is that

**[1:06:08]** what is that beautiful smell and jibreel ﷺ says it is the hairdresser of the daughter of firoun not ibrahim's you know trees not musa ﷺ's pouch not isa ﷺ's hair

**[1:06:27]** an unknown woman who is the hairdresser of the daughter of firoun huge lesson the most belittled people are usually the ones that are in the service industry if you will right you look past them the maids the servants the these these people who no one asks what their name is no one

**[1:06:47]** inquires about who they are people just walk past them you think they're insignificant wasn't that a problem with the woman who used to clean the masjid of the prophet ﷺ that they didn't want to wake the prophet ﷺ up to go pray janazah on her and bury her it's just human condition right

**[1:07:05]** think about how insignificant on earth the hairdresser of the daughter of firoun is and what happened to her one day the prophet ﷺ was smelling her musk meaning what she has in the heavens is incredible one day as she was combing the hair of the daughter of firoun she dropped the comb and she said bismillah the daughter firoun looked at her and said who allah

**[1:07:30]** you mean my dad firoun says no talking about rabbu abik the lord of your father and the daughter says you want me to tell him she said go ahead firoun brings forth this woman

**[1:07:46]** says what did you say so i said bismillah who is there a lord besides me imagine the scene of this woman this powerless vulnerable woman with no one to protect her in that moment looking at firoun on his throne and says rabbi my lord and your lord allah firoun prepares a pit of fire

**[1:08:10]** and he burns each of her children in front of her think about the people of ghaza subhanallah the prophet ﷺ met a victim of a genocide on the night of the sultan iraq all of her children one by one are thrown into that pit of fire in front of her

**[1:08:29]** now you go and subhanallah her one request and there's so much here so much wisdom here her one request was that the bones be gathered together that when my flesh is burnt off my body whatever is left of my bones be gathered with my children firoun threw her into a ditch of fire

**[1:08:50]** hoping that she would not be mentioned or remembered allah is showing her to the prophet ﷺ in the highest heavens with the mention of the likes of ibrahim and musa and others subhanallah the flesh burnt off of her bones she wanted to be with her children

**[1:09:09]** when we talk about the people of ghaza disseminated broken up into pieces allah ﷺ elevates and puts back a new flesh and puts back more than what was taken the rot of genocide becomes the sweetness of the musk in paradise of this woman and there's a lesson here

**[1:09:27]** as well we've come to know khalid nabhan hind rajab may allah have mercy on them all these incredible shuhada for every ruh ruh there are other khalid nabhan that we will never know that were also genocided in gaza who were just as beautiful with their smile just as regular and

**[1:09:44]** righteous in the masjid who had just as much of a painful interaction with their loved ones as they were bidding them farewell but we never caught them but allah caught them and allah saw them and allah rewards accordingly and subhanallah in that latifa in that miracle

**[1:10:00]** surat al-isra is then proceeded with surat al-kahf surat mariam surat al-kahf is about miracles that happen to ordinary people surat mariam is about miracles that happen to prophets and so the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam not the miracle the miracles of the prophets and the

**[1:10:17]** miracles of ordinary people on that night as well i'll end with this inshallah i'll save the rest of this for for next week it's the return of the messenger of allah he saw on that night all of these incredible scenes he saw aljannah he saw paradise and hellfire he saw isa and he saw

**[1:10:38]** he saw the good the bad he saw all the opposites but his faith is increased remember jubiah islam poured more faith in his heart and wisdom in his heart and ibrahim asked allah to show him more so that he could increase in faith right so certainly seeing things right to hear things is not like

**[1:11:03]** seeing things so now that he saw all these things so i saw that even is more addition to it alayhis salatu wasalam in terms of certainty but now he comes back to jerusalem he gets on the buraq once again with jubail islam he makes his way back to mecca one of the narrations is that he even asks

**[1:11:23]** jubail alayhis salam who's going to believe me with all of this jubail islam says yes it's enough abu bakr will believe you as-sadiq will believe you and that's where he gets his nickname the truthful one he will affirm you in this journey of yours

**[1:11:42]** allahu alayhi wasalam then he says salallahu alayhi wasalam i got back to mecca and when i got back to mecca i told the people what happened they said wait what did you say abu jahl is listening these people have been trying to discredit him salallahu alayhi wasalam

**[1:12:00]** sahir majnoon all these different things sorcerer liar what did you say you went to jerusalem came back last night hold on one second everybody come hear this out hear what he's saying now we've been waiting to discredit him now we have it hamdulillah we now have well they're not saying alhamdulillah but you get the

**[1:12:16]** sentiment we now have it we can discredit him abu jahl everyone's calling him over listen to what he has to say and the prophet says i can see myself in the hijr in that chamber that area of ismail islam

**[1:12:34]** and quraish is interrogating me and saying oh really what happened then and what happened then and they're getting such a laugh out of this before the prophets could go tell abu bakr what happened the islamophobes reached abu bakr first

**[1:12:54]** said did you hear what your friend said what did he say said he went to the heavens and came back if he said it he's telling the truth wait what you're you're not you're a smart man abu bakr you're not you're not troubled by this no absolutely not he is the truthful one

**[1:13:11]** if i believe that allah speaks to him from above seven heavens of course i believe that allah can take him and bring him back in one night what's the big deal if he said it he's telling the truth which should be your reaction every time you read an islamophobes commentary when they say oh look at this hadith first of all most of the time it's fabricated but if he said it he's telling the

**[1:13:29]** truth sallallahu alayhi wa sallam i just don't understand it yet the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says that i was in the middle in mecca and all these people are coming they started to ask me about things in jerusalem that i hadn't yet captured i mean this was a

**[1:13:48]** intense journey for the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he saw a lot in that night and then you're asking him about the small details of what did that corner look like and what did that door look like people that came to came from jerusalem before oh tell us about this tell us about that and the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said i felt such grief and i never felt that grief

**[1:14:12]** i never felt that type of grief before that anxiety when they were asking me then suddenly allah raised jerusalem for me in the courtyard of mecca and i was looking right at it

**[1:14:33]** every time they asked me something i simply said this this this and that they asked for the fine details imagine the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and with his back to the kaaba and the people interrogating him about jerusalem and the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is looking at al-quds in front of him and he's saying this is where this is this is where this is this is where this is

**[1:14:51]** this is where this is and suddenly they're going this is backfiring again every time we try to discredit him something happens and it backfires how does he know all this on top of that and others narrated ibn hisham narrate prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that i saw a

**[1:15:09]** caravan on my way back there was a traveling caravan that's coming on its way to mecca and he said so i saw that they had a water pot and the pot was covered he said i descended i drank from that water pot and i covered it and he said and they lost one of their camels and he

**[1:15:26]** describes so i saw the number of camels and the way that the camel looked and he said i alerted them to it that they heard a roar and this camel went running away i alerted them to it and they went chasing after that camel and they retrieved that camel and put it back to their caravan

**[1:15:42]** the prophets allah said ask them when they arrive in mecca and when they arrived in mecca they said exactly what the prophets allah said that they had that number of camels and that there was that night and they heard a voice they didn't know where it came from and there was some water that was missing from their jug and the prophets

**[1:15:59]** allah was once again exonerated in all of this. Dear brothers and sisters inshallah ta'ala with that we will go ahead and conclude and we will continue next week because the next time the prophets allah reaches jerusalem it will be his letter calling the people to allah and the messenger of allah we ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to send his peace and blessings upon him and as he gave the prophets relief after hardship through that journey through al-bayt al-maqdis may allah subhanahu wa ta'ala give relief to the people

**[1:16:29]** of al-bayt al-maqdis today and as he took the prophets salallahu alayhi wa sallam from the earth to the heavens may allah subhanahu wa ta'ala take our shuhada from the earth to the heavens in an instant and as he took the prophets salallahu alayhi wa sallam to that momentous meeting with him may allah subhanahu wa ta'ala allow us to be taken to meet him

**[1:16:48]** while he is pleased with us and as he gathered the prophets salallahu alayhi wa sallam with the prophets may allah gather us with the prophets salallahu alayhi wa sallam and with the anbiya and with the righteous prophets allahumma ameen
