One young mother had lost three children in a single strike and suffered two broken forearms and a fractured skull, yet as he cleaned the debris from her scalp, she and her family were making dhikr. He saw in this the sweetness of faith and the meaning of the hadith that the affair of the believer is always good: In ease they give thanks, and in hardship they are patient.","One man lay under the rubble of his home for eight days with his face torn open. On the fourth day, soldiers entered and killed anyone they found alive, and he prayed: O Allah, as You saved Yusuf from the well, Yunus from the belly of the whale, and Ibrahim from the fire, save me. He survived, and though medically his kidneys should have failed, they were normal. Through those days, he held onto the hadith qudsi that Allah ﷻ will not give His servant two fears: Whoever fears Him in this world will be safe on the Day of Judgment.","Aid that looks like relief from afar can become a death trap up close. In northern Gaza, airdropped packages fell on people and others drowned swimming into rough seas to reach them, while armed drones fired on the starving crowds around aid trucks, so that the only quiet night in the emergency room was one when no food arrived. Such gestures let the world feel it has helped while the siege that causes the starvation continues, which is why the people of Gaza ask not for token aid but for the world to raise their cause until the siege itself ends."],"chapters":null,"series_name":"Gaza Diaries with Dr. Omar Suleiman","url":"https://yaqeeninstitute.org/watch/series/gaza-diaries/the-dua-of-yunus-under-the-rubble-gaza-diaries?utm_source=webmcp&utm_medium=ai-agent&utm_campaign=content-discovery"}
