Along with his academic studies, he has and continues to pursue traditional Islamic studies from various institutes and scholars. His interests include topics such as <em>tafsīr</em>, <em>tazkiya</em>, Islamic psychology, colonialism, and Islamic education. He currently serves as a University Chaplain for Mcgill University and is a regular <em>khaṭīb</em>, public speaker, and lecturer throughout Montreal.
